Tanner Sharpe is a gospel musician, recording artist, producer, songwriter, and Minister of Music whose musical foundation was formed in the church, within his family, and through the rich tradition of choir music. Raised in a musical family with the influence of his mother and grandmother, Sharpe developed his musicianship through years of church music, gospel performance, and community choir experiences. Those early influences shaped his distinctive approach to the piano and Hammond B3 organ and continue to inform his work today. As a pianist and organist, Sharpe has been named in hundreds of recording sessions and has recorded with artists including Kim Burrell, Leslie Pace of the Anointed Pace Sisters, and Matthew Donaldson. His collaborative work includes an ongoing musical relationship with Twinkie Clark of the Grammy Award-winning Clark Sisters, as well as work with Butch Heyward and the Harlem Mass Choir of Japan. He has also recorded three albums with his group, Tanner Sharpe and High Praise of VA.
Beyond the studio and concert stage, Sharpe serves as a Minister of Music, providing weekly musical leadership while directing musicians and choirs and mentoring emerging musicians through workshops and hands-on instruction. Through his music, performances, and digital presence, Sharpe has reached an audience of more than 10 million across social and streaming platforms. His playing reflects the depth of his gospel roots while embracing the expressive possibilities of the Hammond sound, bringing together traditional church musicianship, contemporary gospel, and a deeply personal musical voice.
