Alan Plays the SkPRO

My love affair with the Hammond Organ began in 1961 when my Pops bought my mother an L-100. It continues to this day. The centerpiece of my current rig is the SK Pro. The versatility of this instrument allows me to cover most gigs with just this keyboard.

Current projects include Grammy Award winner Ceron Maye, Jazz Artist Annie Sellick, singer, song writer Justine Blazer. Justine’s album, “Girl Singing the Blues” was Grammy nominated and won the Josie Award for Best Blues Album of the Year. Work on the follow-up album will begin soon.

Being able to play different styles of music is my best asset. It has allowed me to work for Country artists Irlene Mandrell, Ty Herndon, Robert Stowall, and Daryl Singeltary. It has also allowed me to work for R&B artists Archie Bell, Clifford Curry, Doc Blakely, and Lauren Ellis. Music, to me, is a puzzle. It’s just a matter of fitting the right piece in the right places at the right time.
