Based out of the NYC area, Alex has been playing music professionally since the late 2000s. A classically trained pianist turned into a RnB and jazz influenced organist, Alex credits playing weekly for several years at the top Nashville clubs where he first started to hone his Hammond chops. Recent highlights include appearances on NBC’s “TODAY” show, performances at major festivals nationwide including Watershed Music Festival, Route 91 Harvest and the CMA Music Festival and playing at Madison Square Garden for the New York Rangers.
Fun fact – Alex first met his wife Alli on a December 2017 gig billed as “Funkstivus” at Arlene’s Grocery in the Lower East Side. She was the vocalist for Brooklyn Funk Collective who opened for his original rock group Zestrove. Alli was immediately smitten with the boy but Alex played it cool. A few months went by and Alli casually reached out to Alex asking if he “knew of any keys players” for her new band…UPRUSH was soon formed with a Hammond/guitar/drums/vocals format (lucky for Alex, the bass guitar player never showed up for the first rehearsal). Years later, Alex and Alli still perform together and have two beautiful young boys.
Alex also records regularly in his home studio using a vintage Hammond A-100 and Leslie 145. Check out his many client reviews on AirGigs.com and SoundBetter.com (direct links below).
Alex is always looking forward to meeting new artists and adding the Hammond sound and vibe to their projects!
