Danny plays the B-3 and XK-5 Pro system

Danny Louis is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and since 2002 a band member of the highly respected and widely acclaimed Gov’t Mule. He is featured on keyboards, guitar, and horns, as well as co-writer of numerous Gov’t Mule songs. The Mule’s legendary live performances have gained them much notoriety worldwide. Danny was also a founding member of The Cars.

Other artists recorded and performed with include Joe Cocker, UB-40, The Kinks, Greg Allman, The Allman Brothers Band with Eric Clapton, Ann Wilson, Joan Osborne, RosanneCash, Coheed and Cambria, Levon Helm, Ricky Martin, Curtis Stigers, Richie Havens, Ronnie Spector and Cheap Trick to name but a few.

As a composer Danny’s original music has been featured in feature films, television shows, and national TV and radio commercials.

Danny’s keyboard rig in Gov’t Mule includes a Hammond B3 running through two Leslie122 speakers and a Category 5 100w amp head driving a Marshall 4X12 cabinet. Needless to say it is a powerful setup with numerous sonic options.

While working in his studio he plays a mint 1966 Hammond B3 and a Leslie 122.
