Eric plays the Xk-5

Eric Levy was born and raised in suburban Chicago.  His father was a touring saxophonist, his mom also sang and played guitar.  He began studying piano at age 5, by age 16 he was already gigging at local bars most weekends.  Eric studied jazz piano at Northern Illinois University, where the guitar professor, Blue Note artist Fareed Haque, took him under his wing.  A few years after leaving school, Eric and Fareed started a jamband together with bassist Kai Eckhardt and drummer Alan Hertz, called Garaj Mahal.  After a decade of touring the jamband circuit, Eric got a call for a rock gig, with legendary MTV-era band Night Ranger.  These days, Eric resides in Californias Bay Area, continuing to rock with Night Ranger around the world.
