Everett plays the XK-2

Born in Santa Fe New Mexico Everett Lovato was raised in a house full of music, with his father a legendary guitarist out of New Mexico and his Mother playing in Church, he’d be inspired at an early age to play anything he’d get his hands on. After receiving a Drum set and a miniature Gibson Les Paul he’d find his niche on his Mother’s Casio keyboard from Montgomery Wards. “I’d listen to my Dad’s music collection whether it was vinyl records or cassettes, but one sound always caught my full attention and I felt it in my soul to the point that I’d physically feel a spiritual presence all over me! Santana, Tower of Power, WAR, Malo, SRV all just about all the records had that one sound… my Dad would reply, “ That’s a Hammond B3 with a Leslie!” He’d explain how they worked together like the meat and potatoes or Red and Green Chile!

He then would take me to see Santana and Tower of Power and I’d see Chester Thompson and Roger Smith on the Hammond and it would forever change me and put me on a lifetime dream of sounding like that (at least come a little close lol)

In 2011 Everett’s Father and Hero would tragically pass in a motorcycle accident. Though crushed, I picked myself back up to carry on the music his Dad had loved. My Band SMOOTH was created in memory of my Dad and Musical Hero and has been fortunate to have Played and opened  for his Heroes from bands like OZOMATLI, Eddie Money, Los Lonely Boys, Tierra, Max Baca and the Texas Tornadoes, Lil Rob, Kid Frost, GROUPO FANTASMA, SANTA FE AND THE FAT CITY HORNS, MALO, SANTANA, TOWER OF POWER and most recently Sat in with his amazing friends in WAR. “I’m so grateful for this journey in Music and Thank GOD for the Blessings He’s given me to meet my Heroes and play with them!”

I continue to strive to be the best player I can be and It’s easy when you’re playing the best instrument on the planet! Hammond Organ!! Thank you from the bottom of my Heart for opening your arms to me!

I’m beyond grateful to be a HAMMOND ARTIST! ORALE!
